Committee Membership

All Griffiths members are encouraged to get involved on a committee. It is an excellent way to gain experience and learn about Griffiths as well as Mizzou. Committee terms generally span the fiscal year which runs July 1 - June 30.  Committees meet in conjunction with each semi-annual Griffiths Leadership Society meeting and throughout the year as necessary.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee provides direction and leadership for the Society and is responsible for the Society’s administration and fiscal management. Members are chosen for their leadership abilities, vision for the program and history of Griffiths participation.

Program Committee

The Program Committee works to plan the speakers, sessions, activities and meals for Griffiths Leadership bi-annual meetings.

Alumnae Membership Committee

The Alumnae Membership Committee assists with solicitation of alumnae nominations and coordinates the selection process for alumnae members.  Solicitation for nominations begins in late winter. Invitations to join are issued in the spring and summer for membership beginning in the fall.

Collegian Membership Committee

The Collegian Membership Committee helps promote and recruit new student members each year. It assists with nominations, application review and helps coordinate the selection process. Collegian membership applications are available each year in late winter. New members are invited to join in the spring for membership beginning in the fall.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee is responsible for assisting with member communications as well as promoting the Griffiths Leadership Society as a premier women’s mentoring and leadership organization. Major activities include writing the e-newsletter, updating the website, media relations, campus public relations, and more.

Special Activities Committee

The Special Activities Committee is responsible for developing additional opportunities for our members to connect outside of the two semi-annual conferences. Major activities include the book club and casual regional gatherings of members.

Awards & Recognition Committee

The Awards & Recognition Committee is responsible for recognizing members for their leadership and contributions. Major activities include the annual Spirit of Martha Award, recognition of members as they graduate and nominating members for regional awards.
