The Zonta Club of Jefferson City hosted its eleventh annual Women of Achievement Yellow Rose Luncheon on May 18. The Yellow Rose Luncheon honors local women for their community and professional contributions and raises money for Zonta’s Second Chance Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are offered to women in financial need over the age of 24 who will benefit from the organization’s mentoring as they return to finish or enhance their educational experience. More than $143,000 in scholarships has been awarded since the inception of the event.
At the luncheon, fifteen local women were honored as Women of Achievement nominees. Two women received this year’s award including Griffiths member Tuck VanDyne. VanDyne was a founding member of Griffiths and works as the Chief Officer in the Missouri Office of Women’s Health.
