Collegian Members Selected for Mizzou ‘39

Last week, the Mizzou Alumni Association Student Board honored the 2011 Class of Mizzou ‘39. This year marks the seventh annual Mizzou ‘39 selection, an award recognizing 39 outstanding seniors for their service and leadership to Mizzou and the community. Honorees are chosen in February in spirit of the service in which Mizzou was founded in the same month in 1839, said Carrie Bien, coordinator of student programs for the Alumni Association.

Mizzou ‘39 recipients, ranging in majors, interests and activities, were kept secret until their reveal Sunday on the David R. Francis Quadrangle. The students were also honored during halftime of a Mizzou men’s basketball game and at a banquet in the Reynolds Alumni Center.

Ten members of the Griffiths Leadership Society were selected for this honor. Griffiths members honored last week include Cassie Batchelder, Sarah Burroughs, Kate Chizek, Annie Hildebrandt, Joanna Kimball, Amanda Klohmann, Kelsey Kotur, Jacquelinne Mejia, Kristin Morrison and Megan Stroup.
