Meet Debbie Jones, 2011-2012 Executive Committee Chairwoman
Griffiths Leadership Society for Women is proud to introduce our new chair, Debbie Jones. Jones is a University of Missouri graduate and has been an integral part of the Griffiths executive team for the past few years. Her leadership, drive and encouragement have helped shape Griffiths into the outstanding organization it is today.
Jones has been involved with various Mizzou alumni organizations across the country, but Griffiths has always remained special to her. “It’s a great way to give something back to Mizzou. I learned so much at the conferences; it’s not just what we give, it’s what we get too,” Jones said.
During her time in Griffiths, Jones has established many genuine friendships, not only through networking but also through the mentoring program. “Regardless of my involvement, they are friendships I have developed on a deeper level,” Jones said. “The friendships I have made in Griffiths, I know will be life-long.”
Jones goes above and beyond the role of a mentor. Last year she attended the wedding of her very first mentee. Despite the time that passes, she still finds time to maintain the important connections she has made. Working in the male-dominant industry of automotive manufacturing, Jones finds it refreshing to communicate with professional women like herself. It inspires her to motivate other women through Griffiths. “It helps when you share those life lessons with someone else,” she said. “Getting to encourage people and sharing with them the advice you have is very rewarding.”
