Meet Kellie Bray
by Mary Wood
Attitudes and beliefs developed as a child in Cameron continue to guide Kellie Bray today. As the new chair for the Griffith’s Leadership Society Executive Board, Kellie is an active volunteer interested in the grassroot values of American life. To that end, she completed a bachelor’s of science in agriculture with a minor in political science at Mizzou.
Kellie’s interests, education and expertise led her to Washington, D.C., where she serves as Director of Government Affairs for CropLife America. In this professional role, Kellie shares the story of modern agriculture as a vital link in feeding a hungry and growing world.
Residing in Alexandria, Virginia, Kellie serves as a board member for the Mizzou Alumni Association, DC Chapter; a national trainer for Sigma Kappa Sorority; president of the DC Chapter of the National FFA Alumni Association; and as member of the Fairfax County 4H Volunteer Association.
When asked, specifically, about her leadership and volunteer efforts on behalf of Griffiths, Kellie responded, “It is important to me because I grow personally and professionally with each conference. I enjoy being a mentor where I am continually inspired by the young women currently pursuing degrees at Mizzou. I am profoundly thankful to all the women who have been mentors to me.”
When asked what benefits Kellie has received from being a member of Griffiths, she enthusiastically responded, “I have been able to meet such outstanding women! It’s easy to think that your college life is just the four years that you spend on campus, but through Griffiths and other opportunities in Mizzou’s Alumni Association, I have had the chance to get to know and work with wonderful people who span a range of ages and experiences. I’m thankful for the friendships I’ve made and the continuing tie to the Mizzou family.”
