Mizzou Prepares for its 100th Homecoming
Griffiths members will spend the weekend on campus at the end of October, but all alumni will come home to Mizzou for the Centennial Homecoming, October 14-16.
Former Athletic Director Chester L. Brewer will serve posthumously as the 2011 Homecoming Grand Marshal. Brewer is credited with starting Mizzou’s homecoming tradition, which commences 100 days from now on Oct. 15. Brewer will be represented at this year’s festivities by family members.
Here are some of the events highlighting the weekend:
October 14
Homecoming Headquarters - Reynolds Alumni Center
Reynolds Alumni Center Circle Drive
10 am - 7 pm
Check in for Homecoming weekend and reconnect with old friends at Homecoming Headquarters on the corner of Tiger Ave and Conley Ave. Purchase centennial merchandise and pick up information for the weekend. Light refreshments will be provided and a cash bar available. Campus tours for alumni and friends hosted by MU Tour Team will depart on the hour.
Campus Decorations and Spirit Rally
Greek Town
6 pm - 10 pm
Celebrate the Homecoming Centennial and the Holidays at Campus Decorations. Thousands of students and alumni descend on Greek Town for this annual event. These giant skits are sure to surprise and entertain you. At 8:30, gather at the corner of Richmond and Burnam to gear up for the big game with performances from Marching Mizzou and the Spirit Squads as well as comments from special guest speakers. Admission is free.
October 15
Homecoming Parade

Join thousands of spectators at the 100th anniversary Homecoming Parade. Head downtown or find a spot on campus to view this cornerstone tradition.
Brewer Breakfast
The annual pancake breakfast is hosted by Mizzou Rec and open to the public.
Romp, Chomp and Stomp Tailgate
Immediately following the parade
Gather with thousands of students and alumni as we celebrate the centennial of Homecoming by rejuvenating a lost tradition from the 1950s. Enjoy live entertainment, a spirit rally, food and drinks. Cost is $10 for adults and free for children 10 and under. Purchase your tickets online HERE.
