Nominate an Outstanding Woman
The Spirit of Martha Award, begun in 2006, recognizes MU women who have distinguished themselves in their chosen profession and exemplify the spirit of leadership particularly in the furtherance of women. The award is presented by the Griffiths Leadership Society for Women and is named in honor of alumna Martha Wright Griffiths, a 1934 MU economics graduate who served ten terms in Congress. It is in her memory and spirit in which the award is presented.
Past recipients include Pam Benoit, Executive Vice President and Provost, Ohio University; Rebecca McDowell Cook, former Missouri Secretary of State; and Cynthia Mustard, Executive Director of the Voluntary Action Center in Columbia.
Nominations must be received by Monday, Feb. 22. Click here to download a copy of the award nomination. The recipient will be notified shortly after the nomination deadline and the award will be presented at the Society’s spring gathering April 9.
